There are more than 250 species of bee in the UK but only one type of honey bee. The honey bee is well known for being domesticated for centuries, it's rare to find a wild colony. However, they still remain one of the most important insects for crucial pollination of not only flowers but crops. You are most likely to see them between March and September out gathering pollen whilst drinking nectar.
